In the “holy hell, this sounds amazing, I hope they manage it” department, I recently came across what looks like the most ambitious project this side of Ridley Scott filming the Moon Landing.
That was a joke.
From the minds and hands of only a handful of people comes a game that strives to combine the conquering aspect of Mount & Blade, the base grinding of Ark, and the freedom of Skyrim with a combat system drawing from things like Dark Souls, For Honor, Street Fighter and God of War, and slaps one of my absolute favourite themes in the world on top:
No kidding… The guys themselves acknowledge this on their Patreon.
It looks like the three strapping fellows behind the game have been at it for a while and their Facebook page has been around since June of this year so there’s not much on there at the moment, but you can follow along for some very exciting teasers they have from their current state of development. Check out some proof of concept from their Youtube channel, too:
Everything looks very pretty and their hearts seem to be in the right place, but I’m trying to refrain my enthusiasm because (even in the golden age of crowdfunding, which we’ve seen can go both ways) this is a mammoth endeavour that wants to tick a metric shit-ton of boxes, many of which I’ve been looking for in a single title for years.
This could end up being one of the best tabletop-RPG-to-videogame transitions we’ve ever seen, with the degree of freedom and choice when it comes to developing your story reaching levels that are as yet unheard of… But it could also reach trouble down the line and fall flat on its face, disappointing many in the process, Star Citizen style.
Still, I’m definitely gunning for the former to happen, and with the degree of openness to new ideas, advice, and collaborations that the team seem to be open to, they’re at least in the right mindset to be able to adjust course as time goes on and the project becomes more tangible.
As per their own statements, the company is already a registered LLC and they’re gearing up for doing this right and are in it for the long haul. We’ve reached out to the team and are hoping to get a more in-depth chat about the game with them sometime soon, so watch this space for updates.
Thanks for reading, and have as nice a day as you deserve!

Costin thinks he knows a lot. And he does, but he’s also an asshole about it so don’t indulge him. A Focus-sedan-driving family man/corporate drone, he games way more than he should considering he also has this writing gig to deal with. When tasked with a bio piece, he chuckled and said “I better get a lot of room for this cause boy, do I have a lot to talk abo-”
